PE & Sport

At Wrekin View Primary School we pride ourselves on promoting a range of activities through

the taught curriculum, extra-curricular activities and visits which promote an active lifestyle. We support the government’s

initiative to combat obesity and enjoy being active.

Our school vision is to create a curriculum that develops, motivates and enthuses every individual child to become a lifelong learner. As a school we want to create a buzz about physical activities where every child feels confident and ready to participate.

Primary Support Premium

From September 2013 every Primary will receive an £8000 Primary Support Premium. This is to raise and develop the delivery of PE in school.

We have a school development plan that has short and long term targets.

To ensure that all children receive an outstanding PE curriculum we will be looking to improve and develop sport equipment in school as well as train staff to allow children to receive the best possible sports provision.

Sports+, Karate (Life Skills) and Active Sports Coaching

Trained coaches come into school regularly to provide quality coaching in a variety of sports. These coaching sessions are also available through after school clubs for children who take a particular interest in a certain sport and would like to hone their skills!

Sports teams

At Wrekin View we strive to offer a range of competitive sporting opportunities for boys and girls of all ages. This competition comes in the form of: intra-school tournaments; inter-school tournaments with local ‘cluster’ schools;Telford Schools Sports Partnerships leagues; and Telford Schools Sports Partnerships tournaments.
